Kasanka Trust Limited French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM) project launch

The French-Zambian Chamber of Commerce was honoured to be a part of the Kasanka Trust Limited French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM) project launch that took place during a cocktail on Tuesday June 25 2019 at the Residence of France. We were tasked with administering all communications and media engagements for this project launch to allow for Kasanka’s message to be delivered to all the relevant stakeholders.
The FFEM project aims to develop the capacity and partnerships of Kasanka Trust Limited to enable it to become efficient and effective, as well as to increase medium term prospects to allow for the sustainability of its operations and investments. The project also aims to substantially raise the management effectiveness and sustainability of the Kasanka National Park, the Kafinda Game Management Area and adjacent open areas.
The trust has received multiple grants including €1.05m from the French government, through the French Development Agency (AFD), as well as $200,000 from the American government.
Kasanka Trust Limited was founded in 1986 and is responsible for the management of Kasanka National Park, and Kafinda Game Management Area (GMA). Kasanka Trust Limited is also involved in tourism development, which is one of its main sources of revenue, as well as resource protection, jointly carried out with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPF). Located in the Serenje District of Zambia’s Central Province, Kasanka National Park was the first of Zambia’s national parks to be managed by a private-public partnership.
